I bought a Netbook White Aspire One (8.9 inch Intel Atom N270 1.6 Ghz 512 MB of RAM 8 GB Solid State Drive) in September 08 use while I travel alone – so it probably used a total 120 hours or so in the past 18 months. I loved it – it is light and fast start in spite of that I know nothing about Linux I was happy with it. However ago I removed a few weeks to use and found that only the first battery died completely. Okay okay I can buy another battery. But I also I have this sun or figure stellar bar (new track) that prevented me to connect both wired and wireless. I searched Google and found a few user with similar problem with no solution. After a thorough investigation last contact Acer via e-mail about this problem, the response I got was again the warranty had expired and can not try system restore original factory settings or contact your service representative (fee) to help. I got a disc recovery with the original purchase (product delivered by Amazon not a 3rd party) so I guess that in any case, Acer is trying to get paid more. Bearing in mind that I took good care of my team and having only `gentlely" this is not a bargain and some do not mind Acer about their users.
This is the first and only time I will own an Acer product.

However reliable After 15 months of daily use
Stunning workhorse of a little netbook, and even today after 15 months of daily use. The light weight and small size is ideal for taking with you wherever you go. When I need more space to display my work is a snap to connect the Aspire One to a size big screen via VGA port. Silent fan and cool running, long battery life. Keep temporary files and reg clean and will run as fast as I ripped the first day. The price has gone down and I'll be buying more about Aspire to my home network.

One of the best laptops I've had.
Manufacturers keep whining that people do not understand that thinking is not netbook as a laptop, but my Acer Aspire One notebook has been the best compact I've had, much more powerful than my $ 2500 Sony SR-77 that effectively replaced for less than $ 400.
I use it as a team night and as my laptop when traveling, and runs everything I need (games, including World of Warcraft) has more disk space than I can fill, and it is stolen or dropped or something, then it is incredibly cheap to replace what occupies much of the stress of traveling with expensive equipment.
I've had mine for a year and have had no problems with it at all.
You will not have doubts to get another Acer Aspire the next time you need a laptop.

Fantastic!
Pros:
Battery lasts a long time. I would say the average is about 6 hours.
Price. Affordable.
Small and lightweight. What I can easily lead to books in my bag. My other laptop consumes much space and weighs twice as much.
I've never had a problem with it.
Cons:
Small was a professional, but also a scam. Write to intervals of time can become a pain due to the small key board.
I would not recommend this if your computer only because of the size of the keyboard.
If he was not on a hard flat surface, this baby gets hot. Since the exhaust vents are along the bottom, if you put this on a soft surface (lap, sofa, bed, pillow, etc) can not properly ventilate. I would bet that some people scoring so low claiming this failure. The motherboard probably overheated.
I love it, and if you treat the laptop with some common sense you will love it too.
** Note, I do not need to call this a netbook "due to the lack of solid state hard drive. Because of its size people call it as such, but in reality is just a small laptop. You will not find a 160gb netbook, portable solid state for this price!

Instead Pocket PC, I have a Netbook
After my Pocket PC can not be removed from life support (also known as the battery would not take an extra burden, and I could not find a battery replacement again.) I decided to get a netbook. All functions of a Pocket PC with a boat load more. Easy to configure, easy to use and so lightweight, it fits in my handbag and small leather backpack. With a cordless phone becomes an ideal portable way to stay connected.
With the SD card and expansion slots, it has become my mobile photo lab. Take pictures, review, edit, adjust and go without wait until you return home.
You can play DVD quality AVI files. The screen is a little reflection of doors, but a screen cover protection (Something I heartily recommend getting) will reduce the problem down.
It took a while to get used to the keyboard layout smaller but that is not a big problem.
My only problem with this has to be taken into a computer store who have maxed out the memory. The design for expand the memory was not well planned out, and an access panel should have been designed in the bottom of the netbook.
I also recommend getting 6-cell battery or 9 to do it well and truly a "daily use" portable, as one of the many complaints from users of notebook and netbook is 3 hours duration battery.

Incredible bastard!
I will make this mercifully brief and dispense with the technical aspects of this team as they have been extensively in many other revisions including by "rolling Davey (look up his review here.) I just want to say this is an incredible platform bit and the latest netbooks, you can get theft. Given its limitations, is incredibly fast and will handle most tasks without hesitation. Multitasking with processor / memory intensive programs is more difficult despite the use of Photoshop CS3, Paintshop X2, Microsoft Office, and a number of other programs that my older brother (a 17 dual-core "computer laptop with a 2.4 GHz CPU and 4 GB of RAM) but runs slower on this machine. The biggest deal breaker, however, is the 8.9 "screen. I know that netbooks manufacturers are going to bigger screens, but the smaller screen exactly what you want if what we are aiming for is the portability, this is the option. Only about the size of a 200-page novel, you can throw it in your bag and go. No pain to withdraw to the airport and very light. Even through the eyes of my 60 years old and is very easy to read web pages (with my reading glasses) and the screen is superb. Go to Leather sliding Licas found here on Amazon and elsewhere, spring for a wireless mouse and you're ready to go. I can not offer enough superlatives for this little guy. You probably can now be found sniffing around for a $ 300 south of the road. Dispense with the included McAfee Internet Security Suite and go with the ZoneAlarms. OK, that's all. Go get one!
Addenda: August 28, 2009: Get the 9-cell battery longevity also if the value outside a battery plug [...] is a good place to start). Increases runtime anywhere from 7-9 hours depending ………. still fits in my case too.

Murderer little computer!
We love our Acer netbook! What a small team great. Although the keyboard is pressed, you can still write very well in it, although I am a big guy with big hands. I've been riding with him and compact size is really nice. Fits in front zippered pocket of my American Tourister luggage mobile handheld perfectly. I purchased one of those little mice in thumbnail for it and that was a good investment. So far, no problems with the computer and would recommend it to anyone who needs a cheap computer and compact yet has a lot of horsepower.
