I have tools in my western saddle and I like it, does not have a lot of money to keep it clean! That is very nice. There was a saddle without tools in the past, and I liked Well, Congratulations super easy to keep clean! in the new chair!
Usually one thinks of the western saddle as an American style of riding, but in reality its origins in the Arab horsemen and warriors of the Middle Ages. When the Moors invaded Spain in 700's, brought with them their riding style and direction. The chairs were designed for the battle with more stirrups to accommodate high Cantle armor and security provided to them in the chair and the protection of their enemies. So it was mostly knights and crusaders using these saddles.
The Spanish adapted from the Moors saddle for use in what is known as the Spanish War Saddle. This was the same chair they brought to the New World. As has been changed since the need of military equipment to fight an uprising to the needs of colonial expansion, military chair was again transformed into a stock saddle to better meet your needs. This is known as the Spanish Stock Saddle. It was designed as a tool for the cowboy work and has evolved with the expansion into the American West, all to fight the Indians to help the settlers to gather their cattle.
Over time the chair of values was influenced by geography and culture of use. Developed very different styles reflecting differences in climate, terrain, culture and work styles values. The harsh climate and the punishment of the mesquite brush in the Southwest resulted in chairs built to protect the pilot, which makes large, bulky, heavy and flat. California, by contrast, had a mild climate with lush land where cowboys had more leisure time. The chairs were not only smaller than the Texans but become highly decorative pieces that are still used today in the show ring with their shells and tools developed designes.
From the 1700s through the mount 1950, Westerners are still growing and evolving, with many new features to support cattle work and improved construction methods of enlargement strength, durability and comfort of the piece.
Today, the working cowboy is not the only focus in the saddle making. Now they are designed for a wide range of variety of applications and drivers such as track or pleasure, resistance, contestant Rodeo Roper team driver barrel, Reiner, cutting, and of course, working cowboy. Western saddles are found throughout the world, but, whatever the style or origin, all these mounts have shared an ancestor from the chair Western values.
