Personally, I think that asking for a cheaper price and getting him a good home would be better. Perhaps one that is used full time for several years and then retire him to a pasture / horse path. Universities Equestrian Studies Program is designed to provide students with all the fundamental skills they will need to have a long and successful career in the equine industry by providing knowledge and experience that is unmatched by any other university. The program has twelve members of the faculty consists of professional trainers, judges, exhibitors and breeders all actively involved in their particular discipline and have a realistic view of the equine industry. Equestrian Western universities syllabus teaches students the proper techniques in the show, horsemanship and western pleasure during their first year of training. The program then advances in foals break, cut, curb, and finishing horses for pleasure the show. There are also other areas of the discipline that will cover West and Western riding, and road. Students will also be taught a series of different relationship skills of clients and how to produce a horse that is easy to assemble by their owners. Besides the intense riding program, students too deeply into the nutrition, reproduction, management, judging, and preventive medicine. There are also special courses are available to cover sales, marketing, promotion, business skills, therapeutic riding, and exercise physiology.
The English Equestrian Studies program essentially focuses on the theories of English riding and training and progress though hunters, jumpers, and dressage. Students then form a horse without interruption at a level that is determined by their instructors. Students can also take several top-level classes, where they will learn more driving advanced training and procedures in both the flat and over fences. Special Areas covered include sales, marketing, promotion, and business skills.
The Equine Business Management Program combines different equine science courses with management issues and traditional themes of business management and is designed for students who choose to purse a career in the equine industry than the area of training. Students will learn about laws affecting the industry equine and many other practical aspects, including livestock management, reproductive management, disease prevention, and the selection, operation and maintenance of agricultural equipment. All Equestrian Studies students are encouraged to bring a second major or minor, to improve their career options in the equine industry.
All great Equestrian are eligible for a variety of different academic scholarships are awarded annually. There are also practices that are available to provide students additional hands on experience within the equine industry. There are internships available for academic credit or students may choose practices that are taken for zero credit. Internships are available for students in Western riding, English riding, or business management.
There are also a number of different student organizations available and include the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, the Intercollegiate Dressage Association Horse Club, American Collegiate Horsemen UF Horse Show Association, and the University of Findlay jumpers. All these different clubs
