Aortic thrombosis in cats chair?
On Tuesday of this week my old cat 8YR \ leo lost all power in his hind legs, and was crying violently and him to the PDSA vomiting.I who diagnosed the condition of aortic thrombosis, ie a blood clot from the heart had been broken and is stopped all movement in the rear. The diagnosis was euthanasia. I agreed as I was in serious pain.I have been destroyed and all that night week.Last checked the condition on the web and it appears that some vets will operate and remove the clot, although this can and is a matter of limited time and do it fast. Now I feel like Sh * t from this. I respect your vet about pain issue.But beneficial not have a protocol for these things, or is based on what is surprising happening.I Things could have been different. THX for listening
Sorry for your loss, but please do not blame yourself for having accepted his cat put to sleep to release the pain.I worked for veterans 40 years and throughout that time I saw a cat with this condition is so rare. So do not think many vets who have the ability to operate in a cat with this. I have had to find a specialist and would not have been easy and certainly too late to save his cat.Also do not think your cat has never fully recovered, you may not have use of their hind legs as its circulation had been arrested and could have been another of his heart.All clot could be what I know, but I do think it is the kindest and best for your cat! He is at peace now, but are suffering. Be careful. ADDED: Lisa I am sorry for their loss, too, which is a terrible blow for you. I know you both feel like we lost one of our beloved cat to a lung disease that was incurable that of the blue, he was only 5 years. Never overcome his loss, but eventually you get used to it. RIP, both his and my Popsy beautiful cats too. xx
