Problem with the power cord for Xbox 360?

Brother has just bought new Xbox 360. Problems with the power cord for to the (back of the unit). Account of small plastic bridge in the center candle of the receivers. Also relevant piece of plastic in the center of all copper ports in the cat. Has anyone else had this happen? How did you resolve the situation?

Return. If the power brick does not match with the 360, then your "new" console sounds like you have a console that someone else returned. The 360 older have a slightly different power connector therefore you can not plug a power brick more powerful in a new console that does not need much power, or vice versa. If you have further outside the box not matching and when they screwed up the shipping carton (unlikely) or someone else messed with it.
