A man Ralph Lauren big pony fit differently than a woman?
I want to buy a multi-color large polo pony, but my breasts are too large to fit in a slim fit women. So if I have a small men's shirt that fits weird? Or simply adapt like a regular polo? I do not want male display
The only difference I can think of is that the buttons would be on opposite sides of the shirt. If it fits comfortably, go for it. My wife has a few big mens polo she wears and nobody notices, including the difference button.
The pole and its history
Many of us have heard the pole term and many of us have used or that still puts them on. But how many of us know that the pole term came and which was coming to him?
In fact, the shirt started with the game of polo. Polo started as a sport Tibetans played by men calling a ball that hit a pulu. In the 7th century the Persians invented a new game, a game that made use of the pulu for riding and hitting with sticks. At the time of the Persian game had become a recognized sport in India, was called "Polo". When the British occupied India, enjoyed seeing polo matches. The British finally learned to play polo and sport and brought to England.
In the mid-1800s, sports teams Great Britain began using knit shirts at football matches, in matches in rowing and other sports events. Although they had long sleeves, do not share their shirts a feature with the pole today and being made of a material point. In the19th century, a businessman and an entrepreneur who saw and liked the shirt, redesigned and sold as "poles". Print ads in "clusters" appeared in documents of Maryland since 1887.
In 1923 team members Hurlingham Polo in Buenos Aires was presented at a party wearing the polo shirt just now labeled. The popularity of the shirt and raised in 1920 a man named Lewis Lacey opened a clothing store in Buenos Aires and sold the shirts. The shirts now had a logo depicting a polo player on a pony.
In 1926, René Lacoste, a famous tennis player, brought the Pole to public view in a new way, showing his audience that the shirt can be used for anything other than the pole.
Shirts Lacoste was white, which was typical of the time tennis clothes, short sleeves Piqué made of loosely knit cotton with an un-starched collar flat ledge. I also had a flap with buttons and a shirttail in the back as in front. The first time I wore the shirt at the U.S. Open Championship 1926. Beginning in 1927, Lacoste crocodile emblem placed on the left chest of his shirt. The American press had begun to refer to him as "the crocodile", a nickname he embraced.
In 1933, after retiring from professional tennis, Lacoste Gillier partnered with Andre, a friend who was a clothing merchant, for commercialize the shirt in Europe and North America. Together, they formed the company Chemise Lacoste, and began selling their jerseys, which still includes the small crocodile logo embroidered on left chest.
In 1972, Ralph Lauren took the ideas of Lacoste and Lacey Lewis and included its "pole", as a prominent part of their line original called Polo. Although not specifically designed for use by polo players, Lauren shirt imitate what at that time had become normal attire for polo players. Lauren prominently included in his new suit of "sport of kings." Remained on the shirts Lacoste alligator emblem. This worked well as a tool marketing, and later, due to the immense popularity of Lauren's clothes, most English-speaking Westerners began to refer to the Lacoste tennis shirt as a shirt "Polo".
During the second half of the twentieth century, as clothing became the norm in the more casual golf, polo became almost universally adopted as a standard golf attire. "Lacoste tennis shirt" in sections of different courses has led to specific design of the shirt tennis for golf, resulting in the name of "golf shirt. Golf shirts are usually made of polyester, cotton and polyester blends or mercerized cotton. The board normally has three or four buttons, and therefore extends lower than the typical polo neck. The neck is usually made with sewing a double layer of the same material used to make the shirt, in contrast with a polo neck shirt, which is usually a sheet of ribbed cotton knit.
Now the pole is used as standard clothing due to comfort. The shirts are used by students and adults, athletes and nonathletes alike. It appears that the crocodile is here to stay.
