What is the difference between the standard or extended innovation Bates dressage saddle?
I have a Bates Innova in the standard model, and one of the best saddles that have traveled in the standard / extended option refers to the block size of the knee. In standard, there is still a major block knee, but is not as wide / deep. This model is designed primarily for women, given the size of the knee block accommodates the natural position of a woman's hip / thigh joint. In the extended knee block is much larger and gives the rider's leg is a right angle at the knee and hip. I, as a woman, which is very uncomfortable and prefer the standard. I know a dozen others with the Innova, and all have opted for the standard block. It's really a preference however. If you can, test each trip.
